How much should a sow with a UTI be drinking a day?

A healthy piggie should generally drink around 40ml a day - not that many do! For pigs with bladder prolems, a minimum of 40ml is ideal. If you can give more than 10ml at a time, that should flush the bladder out quite well as I believe the bladder capacity is 10ml.

My 3 UTI girls drink loads - probably about 400 ml a day between 3 of them, but I don't think it's even. One of them drinks a lot more than the others I think. It's the one who I don't think drinks so much that is suffering a lot at the moment, so that was my reason for asking. Will keep syringing her water to try to flush her out.

I syringe a mix of cranberry juice/water at least 10 ml at least twice daily if my UTI is acute. Unfortunatley, none of my piggies is a good drinker, which makes the job harder and I have to resort to syringing.

I thought this was about g. pig problems.

There is no minimum normal amount of fluid intake for a healthy pig, I am sure that most of us have any number of pigs who drink little or nothing but who are healthy.

Was going to say i normally have to drink at least 1l a day for three days to get rid of one wiebke :)) Might be also worth give probiotics to support her system
