Hi all the rspca are quoting me 30 quid plus then the adoption fee of 12 quid total £42 is this about right?

Thats a very good price!
Simba cost me £47 exactly for his castration :)

I am paying £55 each for mine. I think you're gettign a very good deal.

I paid £15 and I had a voucher for £15 from the local RSPCA. I used a vets of my choice I was quoted £30 and used the voucher as part payment. I rang many different vets for prices and within the city the prices were as little as £20 to £75.

This voucher sounds interesting, I had to ask for Digby to be done one of the ladies wasnt keen and another was trying to over ride her and say it was fine. What I am a little confused about is on their web site it says they neuter all the animals before they leave and chip them too but I had to ask and I have to pay for it I dont mind but it seems like he should have been done anyway!

I thought this, does anyone know why they don't do this? Maybe they mean more cats and dogs, rather than small animals. ?

I paid £19 and £23 for my boys but that was a few years back now :)

That does sound a good price! I went to get my 3 male rabbits neutered and i got £15 off them each as i too got the neutering vouchers, otherwise it would have cost me £31.50.

I think with them saying Micro Chipped as well they do mean cats and dogs, as i've never had a rescue guinea pig or rabbit micro chipped before they came to me, it's not something that is usually done ;)

Mine cost £37.50 for his castration which I thought was really reasonable. This included 2 follow up appointments too. My vets don't prescribe a course of antibiotics though, he has his anaesthetic and 24 pain relief and that's it which could explain the difference in cost.

It costs me £14 with a voucher thats worth £15 from the RSPCA

so basically in total £29

Creams off to be denutted next week with his voucher in his hot little sweaty paws O0

Well I know they don't microchip small animals. However, to make an animal more adoptable and to make sure it is not used for breeding in the future you would think they would neuter small animals. ::) :)

Can i just say that I did not get my Boar from the RSPCA. Some rspca will give you a voucher to help towards the cost of neutering animals to prevent unwanted litters. The pdsa also do a voucher but you have to be in receipt of benifits and the two CANNOT be used together. These vouchers are not widely advertised that help is available towards the cost of neutering.

It cost me £35 including drugs for Bowie, our vet is very reasnobly priced however :)

Well hubby rang the dogs home (rspca) and they have said they only use a private vet so no voucher :( BUT They are only going to charge me £25 after having him 'done' and thats him included!  O0

Blimey. seems I'm paying well over the odds for my boys. Oh well, as long as they get well looked after. ;)

I am picking Patch(charlie) up on Saturday from the rspca, wasn't sure how much the donation was gonna be as he has been neutered for me, so i emailed to check, i was really surprised when i got my reply today, he is only gonna be £10, think i'll donate more though.

when i had star done last year (he was supposed to of been a sow P@H got it wrong) his neutering cost £30

:o £10, that is really good, most guineas cost more then that without the neutering. O0

yes it is good, i was shocked, i knew he would be £10 without neutering but presumed the price would go up, i am really chuffed, my oh and myself have decided to give £20 for him, which is still a bargain. i really can't wait to get him home now. then i have to wait 11 days till he can be properly introduced to toffee. ;D

That's cheaper then what mine cost me. However, I think my vets overcharge slightly anyway. >:( :)
