How much water?

How much water is normal for a pig to drink? Fudge gets through a bottle a day, which is loads quicker than my other pigs. In fact if it empties and I don't notice he wheeks to let me know ;D

Then of course what goes in has to come out ::)

He's young, fit, active and healthy with no signs of anything wrong. Do some pigs drink this much?
 
whoa I dont think any of mine drink that much except in summer :o even with 5 in a hutch
 
Any thoughts on diabetes? When I went to Cobweb I remember them saying that one of theirs was diabetic. May be worth PMing them to ask for signs other than excess water drinking....
 
No the water bottle's not leaking, as he's on vet bed so I'd know. He's always drunk a lot.
 
My two girls go through about half a large water bottle every few days
 
Vedra told me once that a piggy needs 40ml of water a day - that is an awful lot.
Mine never drink that much out of their bottles, I have three and I think I should notice 120ml missing..

so I can just guess that mine get alot of fluid out of their fresh food, their cucumber etc.

Maybe yours is just doing it properly, unlike mine? :) and drinking his recommended intake?
 
Sometimes Ton and Guin will go through a bottle a day, like Titch and Jo-Jo. Other times a bottle can last 3 days. Same with my girls and varies.

Maybe he's a piggy who just loves water?
 
Is your house (or wherever he lives) hotter than normal? Maybe he gets thirsty from heat.
 
my 16 girls drink 2 hugh bottles a day ( eazie bottles the big ones) yet the boys dont drink half as much both got same heating etc so maybe girls just drink more
