Guinea pigs should have hay non-stop and dry food non-stop.
Veggies can be given maybe once or twice a day about a bowlfull? It's different for us all.
I feed my cavies a large bowl of veggies and fruit (I mean LARGE) twice a day for each groups. Well actually the bowl sizes vary depending on the size of the groups.
They should also be able to have water all the time.
So 3 things that piggies should be able to have when they want it, not occassionally or never, etc..

Piggies don't get over-weight like humans do.
I have a large cavy who is the heaviest and she 3lbs 4oz, you know... Sweetpea?
Just give them a bowl of veggies and fruit a day. Maybe more of a mixture?
Do you give them beatrute? Kale? Carrots? What types do you give them? Any fruit?

i give them a wide veriety of food but not beatroot they should stry it

I just usually get a bowl out of the cupboard and fill it up with veg..once or twice a day.. Today I gave them two bowls full..I know, I shouldn't have 
they havn't actually eaten it all though yet.

Yep! My cavies eat the wonderful beatroot and then their mouths are all redy-purple! 0
