Ok. poppy and daisy are 7 weeks old and i currently feed them about half a cup of gp food a day with a little fresh veggie treat twice a week and they always have dried or fresh grass available and plenty of water. i know that they do not produce their own vit c so is this enough. how much fresh veg do you all feed your little piggies x ?

You must feed your piggies fresh veg every day. Try this sticky on diet: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=30297

thanks. i actually thought so but was told from where we got them twice a week. i will up it. they are enjoying some chopped up celery at the moment x

Piggies need a constant, 24/7, unlimited amount of dust extracted hay, this wears down their teeth and helps their digestive system, as they are babies do not limit the dry food, make sure they always have a full bowl, if you are feeding muesli and they leave certian bis gradually swap over to pellet form.

They should have 2 bowls of fresh veggies/salad a day consisting of things natuarally high in vit c, (red, green, yellow peppers - deseeded, brocolli, sprouts to name but a few.

Go easy on the readi grass it is very rich for their little tummies this should just be given as a treat 1 - 2 times a week.

Weigh them weekly and monitor their weight gain/loss.

xx
