Ok, so i give mine veggies twice a day, breakfast and dinner....... I am thinking ( only thinking ) of changing this to once a day but not at all sure... We go away for 2 weeks soon and I my parents are house & piggie sitting and just thinking of ways to make their life simpler cos I am asking a lot for them to come and live her for two weeks lol !

My girls are just 5 months old ... they are always hungry for breakfast and dinner so don't want them to loose weight just to save time if you know what i mean?

I know how you feel.
Mine get veggies twice a day
I have a very good friend who looks after our house while we are away and was willing to look after my trio too. However, I felt it was too much to expect her to pop in twice a day . I've found someone who locally who boards - so that was my solution. When they are in boarding - they get floor time too ( and grass time in the summer) too.

Mine have breakfast and supper and because I have 4 older/ unwell pigs they also get snacks of grass and additional forage in between. If they hear the fridge door or a bag rustle and they start wheeking they get a small handful of hay to keep them happy.

When I first had my boys I did it 3 times lol, but now I do it just twice. Breakfast and tea and they have their pellets about an hour or so before bed time, and a top up off hay whenever they need it.

I would feel bad cutting them down to once a day now....

Mine get a huge bowl of veggies around 7ish (our dinner time, they're in the backroom so hear the fridge opening) but if they wheek during the day I'll chuck in a handful of kale or parsley or something :). Oh and they get a chunk of either pepper, cucumber or carrot before bed time too.

I am worried that if I change it to once a day they will be sad... They have their little routine... Just don't know what to do !

The piggies at TEAS have grass in the mornings, either by going outdoors in the runs or if the weather isn't suitable, then I pick them handfuls of grass. This also includes dandelion leaves and plantain. They get a selection of veggies in the evening and they have lots of hay at all times. Nuggets are fed as a treat, a couple of times a week.

Twice a day or they have threatened to walk out.....I think I would have a riot on my hands if it was less. As it is they then get their morning grass after breakfast and their late night snack (dried herbs scattered in their hay) before bed. Ridiculously spoilt.

Just once a day. On really hot days I spread it so they get twice a day
Then it's mostly dandelions or other things I have growing in my garden in the afternoon and their "normal" veggies in the evening.

Twice a day, a slice cucumber in the morning when the fridge door is first opened and the wheeking starts, then in the evening when they hear the knife chopping veggies for our dinner. They have a small cup of nuggets and unlimited hay topped up as necessary, usually twice a day. On wet days like today when they can't go out for grass time I pick some dandelions, milk thistle or grass in the garden to give a bit of excitement to their day.

Depends. If your guinea pig needs weight loss, once a day will do. Normally you should feed twice a day with a wide variety of fruit and vegetables ( fruit only in the morning)

My piggies are getting veg 2-3 times a day in small portions, but when I am away, this can be just one large portion.

The piggies adapt quickly to a new schedule. Mine are clever enough to know that when nobody is in the house, the food person comes through the front door - they won't wheek when one of us is in the house, but they will as soon as we come back from shopping or the carer comes in! :)

Can guinea pigs have cauliflower

Yes, they can, but the leaves have in several causes cased bloat when introduced, so it is not an ideal veg. Most of us don't feed it. Broccoli is milder in comparison, as long as you feed in small quantities, like a floret or a chunk of stem per guinea pig.
I have given you the link to our diet thread in your other thread. You can find information about which veg you can feed how often and in which quantities in there. We have also got a guide as to which veg are edible and inedible at the top of our food section.
Here is our extensive list of edible and inedible foods: Edible And Forbidden Veg And Fruit List With Vitamin C Grading
And here is our diet thread, with recommendations as to what to feed how often to a achieve a reasonably high vitamin C but low calcium diet for long term health.
