Hi :)p

One of my piggies (Chibi, a BEW rex ) has got a fungal problem on her.. I have been treating the area with Beaphar anti fungal spray.. this is helping.. then I just recently remembered i had some Manuka and Neem Shampoo..Doh! mallethead so I gave her a bath a couple of days ago.. wow that did help her.. lovely soft fur and a her skin looked more "soothed" I was just curious to know, how often should you bathe a piggy with a skin problem? i was going to do it once a week... but I'm not sure if it should be more often?

Looking forward to hear from you guys :))

I'm not sure either but if you contact chrissie at gorgeous guineas she might be able to advise you :)

I would do it once a week as you dont want to dry the skin too much and make it more itchy. Put some daktarin oral gel on or canesten (sparingly) on in the mean time

Canesten 1% cream for skin problems only. Make sure that you have/get the right one!

How often should piggies be bathed if they're [*]not[/*] having skin issues? Just when they're really dirty or stinky? Or more regularly?:rose

I found the answer to my question on Gorgeous Guineas:
Preventative Maintenance: Guineas bathed every 4-6 weeks and kept in the correct environment and on appropriate bedding (ie not wood shavings / sawdust) are less likely to get skin problems. Guineas under 12 weeks of age should not need to be bathed unless they have a skin problem. If the guinea has never had a skin problem, use one of the Conditioning Shampoos, if the guinea has had skin problems, use the Manuka & Neem Shampoo instead.
