How Old Are Your Guinea Pigs?!

Just wondering! My baby girl Butterscotch turned four on August 1st, (she was a twin, but her sister sadly passed after an eight-month battle with Lymphnode cancer on May 23rd this year) and she is just as chipper and happy as ever! :D

The oldest one of my cuddly-cavies has ever lived is six years old, btw! His name was Cuddles and he was a very smart guinea!
 
Wow, Butterscotch seems like a little ole grandmother compared to your cuties! Our vet said once that his guinea pigs only lived 1-2 years, and was amazed that our guinea pig made it to three (let alone four) and in a healthy condition! (other than pea eye which she had since birth) I hope your gorgeous guineas live many years! :)
 
eddie is two years old. his new girlfriend, who will be arriving soon, has just turned three years old. we sadly lost maisie recently. she was six. and we lost ches in feb 2013. he was also six.
 
So sorry to hear you lost one to cancer. My Hazelnut will be 4 in November and so far has not experienced any health issues other than a 4 day URI last year. Peanut Butter just had his 3rd birthday this month. He has had to go to the vet for monthly dentals ever since he was 2 months old because he has an overbite and his incisors don't meet to wear down. He also suffered a 3 month UTI and has a sebaceous cyst that so far is not causing any problems. So I constantly worry about PB and am overjoyed when he reaches another birthday. I hope my boys reach as great an age as your Cuddles did.
 
Aw, I hope Peanut Butter and Hazelnut (I love how you name your cavies after food like me, ha ha!) do live to be very old and have very lovely, fun-filled lives like I try to give my piggie! :) I hope Eddie is healthy aswell! URI took my guinea love Lola Minnea ('min-ay') mid-October 2013, it is so frustrating how easily they can contract them. :td: It seems like many others do have piggies that live to be verry veeerrrry old like mine! YAY FOR HAPPY, HEALTHY PIGGIES! :clap:

Love the photos - adorable piggies. Can't take the credit for my piggy names. My granddaughters name all my pets. They named my pooch a food name as well - Oreo.
 
eddie is happy and healthy. ches always seemed to have one health issue or another sadly so i was pleased he made it to six. maisie was really strong health wise and only in her last eight months had problems. i expected her to be the one who would get to at least seven years old to be honest. maybe even eight. so i was totally gutted she was six although i know this is still a great age.

I am only fourteen so I know why they would do that, it is adorable! Btw thank you! They all were adorable piggies. One big happy guinea fam! :)

It is a great age! My own vet stated that his own guinea pigs made it only to 1-2 years. Your piggies must be very happy, you are doing something right! :)
 
My two guinea pigs are age 4 and have had no health issues presently! I was surprised your vet said 1-2 years as I believed life expectancy was 4-6?
 
Not entirely sure how old mine are. I think Chutney's around two and a half/ possibly three years old, with Radish being around one/approaching two years old.
 
I am really bad at working out their ages but the youngest is Sophie at about 1 and half, maybe coming up to 2, and the oldest is Star who we think is about 5 now.
 
I have two 'big ones' Betty & Wilma which are coming up to about 9 months old now and two 'little ones' Pebbles & Pearl which are Wilma's babies and are 5 months old now. They all turning into 4 big lovely ladies. :)
 
My piggies are 2 they turned 2 in June. I would post pictures of them but I don't know how!

I thought the life expectancy was typically 4-6 years aswell, but according to my vet, he has never seen a guinea pig besides mine live older than two years (he has been a vet for like 30-40 years?) and no one I know of who had guinea pigs never had their piggies live more than 1-2 years. Maybe they just weren't loved or cared for properly. I can see that all of your cute cavies are happy and healthy and are living long lives aswell! :yahoo:
 
My guinea pigs parents are now 3 and 4 and are still going strong!
 
Yes, He is the one in my picture, And he has all of these little tricks like lying down and sitting in my hand. I can send more pictures if requested. I'll let him know about your compliments :) :)

I have no idea... Maple and Pecan I've had for two years so under that... Rambo, Patch and Lucky I've had for a year so that age or under. Rory I got at 5 months this year, Abigail and Maggie around 8 months...

Hello,

I have six and Buttercup and Skittles are 1yr and 2 months, and the other four Patch, Stripey, Ginger and Baby all just turned 1 year this august...

So mine are still quite young, my two childhood guinea pigs lasted til 6 and 7yrs... :)
