The oldest I know about was our family piggy back in the seventies when we moved to a house with a garden. We got him when he was just a few weeks old and he lived to the ripe old age of nearly ten years.

Until old age finally caught up with him big time, he was a very healthy pig with only the odd tummy upset every few years.

Does anybody know of older pigs?

My friend had a boar who lived until he was ten and three quarters. I'd love mine to live to that age!

unfortunately the two piggies who have passed away, one just made it over a year and the other only a few months. I do have 2 which are nearly 3, and it would be great they if lived for a very long time

Yes, I'd wish that, too. But you can't help it when you run into medical conditions...

None of my other guinea pigs ever lived even close to that age!

The record - apparently, according to one piggie book - was 14 years. Can't remember the decade, but I think the pig was called Snowball and lived in UK.

A Guinea pigs average life span is 4-8 years.

A record!: The oldest recorded pet guinea pig was Snowball, from Nottinghamshire in England. Snowball died at a whopping age of 14 years and 10 months! Snowball died in February 1979.
