How old is this piggy?

Thanks for the reply and sorry about the pics. I don't use photobucket so I've uploaded the pics to my own site to embed them if that makes it easier :)

He looks rather subadult to me, but it is very difficult to tell. Do you know how much he is weighing and whether he still has his baby nails or now?

Have his nails on the front paws ever been cut or not? it is not quite obvious from your pictures. I would think that he is around 3-6 months old if he is not thin and malnourished.

Thanks Wiebke :) He seems perfectly healthy and scrawny only with youth. His nails don't appear to ever have been cut, no, they come to pretty lethal points at the end. I don't know whether this picture's any use, I couldn't get him to keep his feet still...

The pet shop gave me a vague "guesstimate" of 3-4 months for all the piggies in the enclosure, but the higher end of your estimate is what I was thinking simply due to the development level of his boy-bits. I would have expected to have difficulty sexing him at 3-4 months if not 5 months as well, or do their bits develop at different rates?

It actually looks relatively young i must say you've picked up a nice guinea pig x
Astrid and my six guinea pigs.

He definitely still has his baby claws. They usually need cutting for the first time between 6-10 months. He's definitely younger.

Thank you! :):) That's reassuring to know. He is getting on just brilliantly with Archie which is what matters. Toby has only been with us a week, yet he's completely at home already x)
