How old to GP's live for?

Hello!
I sort of know how old guinea pigs live for , but I was wondering what you guys think guinea pigs can live for.
Pets at home say 4-6 but I'm not so sure.

my Anaseed died earlier this yea r, she was 10 1/2years, my eldest lived to 13 1/4, yrs. with all ages inbetween.

They must have been sooooooo well cared for

I’ve been told that 5 - 8 years is the normal range with some living longer and some a shorter time.
Merab is 6 next month and is still going strong

I remember when I was a kid back in the 1980's when people didnt realise or care so much that piggies need hay and exercise and company rather than fatty muesli and a solitary hutch life that life expectancy was predicted at 2-3 years like for hamsters. Poor Boris died of a heart attack in 1984 age 2 and a half
But this is 2018 and I hope to keep my piggies for years and years, my mother tried to "warn me" they dont live long based on our 1980's experience but I hope 5-8 years is realistic unless they get a serious illness

My four rainbow bridge pig’s average age was 5. Individual ages were 2 (pyometra) 4, 6 and 8

My oldest boy was 11, usually my piggies live to 8/9 years old so I'm hoping my current lot follow that trend

My rainbow piggies lasted 5 and 5.5 years. My current ones are 2 and are still going strong. Wiebke's just had Calli pass to the Rainbow Bridge and Calli had just turned 9.
