As you know i have just set up a g.p rescue and have just recieved an email from someone asking me to take in their elderly boy.
They live in the same village as me but are moving to Scotland. He is 7 this year and is neutered. They have asked if they can come and see me first to check me out, and have also said they will give me the hutch and also an 8 foot run, also all his other bits.
They said they would donate them to me as i was the one doing them a hugh favour and they couldn't thank me enough.

I get a very strong impression that this is heartbreaking for them as they love him so much. He did have a partner that died a few weeks back and they don't feel at his age he would make such a long journey!

How refreshing to meet someone like this.

Amazing! What wonderful owners! 7 is a fantastic age! Hope I can get some of mine to that age!

nice to hear stories about decent folk

Good luck with your guinea pig rescue :)

Awww sweet. You will meet lots of lovely people when you start rescuing, and the nice ones just about offset the unspeakable ones who neglect or dump their piggies. I usually find it's a bit of a see-saw but more ups than downs!

Very sad for the people having to part with their boy after so long, but as you say, wonderful that they are continuing to do the right thing for him now they have to move away.

They obviously love their little boy lots, it must be heartbreaking for them having to part with him after such a long time but as everyone else as said i'm glad they are considering him and doing whats best for him, they sound like lovely people.

Good luck with the gp rescue! x

Aw, bless. That is lovely to hear. What a sad decision his poor owners had to make - but they have his best interest at heart. What a right wee pensioner he is!

Good luck!

Thats a lovely story, it's great to know they really care about his future.

Yep you'll meet all sorts in rescue. I think you'll meet the very best and the very worst of people. Enjoy this breath of fresh air!

It is nice to know that some people just can't look after piggies anymore and still want to make sure they are sending them to a good home! it does make a change from the pictures we get on here of poor little neglected piggies!
