I have 2 pigs who are a year old and currently live outside in a hutch.

I know it's hot out there and they seem a little restless today. They are in the living room area and all spread out and burrowed in the woodshavings.

Both are a little wet as think they have accidentally rubbed against the bottle....

How can I make them more comfortable?

It is in the shade but guessing I could move the hutch so it gets no sun all day... or should I bring them in for a few hours as it's a little cooler in here.

Any help much appreciated - am new to this :red

make sure they have clean cold water available. also take out any plastic hideys they have and replace with wooden or cardboard ones.

you can get cool pads to put in the cage/hutch or if you have them just paving slabs as these will be cold.

cucumber is always a hit with mine and has a high water content.

I'm replacing water three times a day at the moment... There's nothing worse then feeling Too hot and then drinking warm water... :)>>>

You can buy the ice pods or just freeze some tins/bottles full of water and cover them in a sock... I went out and bought about 30 tins of value mushy peas to freeze... :))
My poor guys are suffering and there in a shed... Just got them a fan for in there too...

I'm giving all of my piggies cucumber. I've kept it on a plate of ice to make it extra cool and then fed it to them without the ice. Keep their hutch/cage shaded and open all windows in the room - just check that no nasty flies etc get in with the pigs though.

Dampening your beach towels can also help - the evaporating water cools down the surrounding air.

Thanks! I have brought them in for a few hours until I can move their hutch. Just panicing and worried about them. They are wanting to eat - just seeing them restless and laid out flat worried me but I guess they are trying to be comfy.

Glad I came home from work early now......
