I am getting my piggies on Wednesday! VERY excited and have bought them, some broccoli and a yellow pepper for the journey to mine (about an hour-ish) and i was planning on cutting the bits and placing them in a cool bag with an ice pack, but how small do you cut them? Or am i being REALLY dumb?:(|)

Not very small at all :) They can manage to eat them even if they're not chopped at all :))

I cut them into chunks to minimise food fights within my big group, especially as some prefer to run away from the crowd with a choice piece.

Here is my Telyn constructing her very own veggie burger!

PS: Not all piggies will eat yellow pepper (which always needs to be de-seeded) or broccoli straight away, especially those that have never had veg in their life. Try cucumber instead or nothing at all during a short trip. Most piggies won't eat when underway, so don't be disappointed if nothing is touched. Have a good pick up!

i used to just chop everything in half, but after watching them eat i realise that they pick out the things they like best first and would go for both pieces so the other didnt get to chomp on that particular veg...so...now i chop into smaller bits probably half and half again so their are more pieces and hopefully they both get to taste everything!

what a sweetie x)

I love that picture...looks like he's saying "nom nom, now if I just put that piece there I've constructed the best burger in the world, a guinea world record". There must be a equivalent to the Guiness book of records.

But down to business, I chop roughly with the exception of celery which I chopped thinly due to any stringy pieces.

Some things I cut up - I cut celery into pieces about 1-2cm long, because of the stringy bits, I also slice corn on the cob into discs because otherwise one pig hogs the whole thing!

Most other things, I maybe just cut into chunks to spread it out amongst the group a bit, they love nothing more than sinking their teeth into a big bit of veg!

I chop mine up into chunks just to make sure everyone gets a bit of everything, especially peppers, baby corn and apple (etc.). Although half the time, two usually want the same leaf or stalk rolleyes I have started to leave full lettuce and greens leaves occassionally too though.

I agree that celery is usually chopped into chunks about 2cm or so long as it can be stringy.

This is one of our veggie dishes it fed four :)

Yes i do chunks or break off bits from the broccoli and cauli......same with me with celery i also strip off the stringy bits and then cut finely .......just in case!
I did a piggie rescue one time, i had some cucumber, bits of carrot and some melon......i used the wet veg as i knew i couldn't give them any water on the way.
GOOD LUCK can't wait to see some pigtures x)x)
