How soon before getting Guinea Pigs shall I buy the pellets and hay?

How long will unopened bags of pellets and hay last for? Will it be okay to get them soon along with the rest of the supplies I need or shall I wait and get pellets and hay last, or on the day I get the pigs? I'll probably be getting the pigs in mid-July at the latest. I just want to be as prepared as possible

Get pellets and hay in the week before your piggies arrive.
