I bath my piggies about once a month as they stink.
I fill the bath with luke warm water and plonk them in, they run around and dont seem to mind it too much.
I use baby shampoo.
When I have finished I wrap them in a towel and then blow dry them. Afterwards they shivver/purr not sure which
Questions: Is luke warm water warm enough for them?
Should I be blowdrying them - I use the cold setting - is this too cold? Would the warm setting burn their skin?

Blowdrying is a pretty controversial idea, some people think its fine, some people dont.
Are your piggies okay with quite loud noise?
Most people just towel-dry their piggies, but if your piggies are okay with loud noise then it would be okay to use a hairdryer :)

Once a month? Thats a lot of washes! If you wash them too much, then you could get rid of natural oils in their hair. Pretty much the same as humans, if you wash your hair too much then it can go quite dry, britle and itchy.

Good to hear that you are using baby shampoo :).
If I were you, I would mostly towel-dry them, and then blowdry for the last couple of minutes if you feel it nessecary. I personally just use a towel, as my
Guinea pigs get creeped out by loud noise.
I dont really know about the cold/hot setings. You obviously dont want them to burn, yet the cold setting might get them cold too quickly, as they have just been in lukewarm water. Speaking of which, lukewarm water is perfectly fine for bathing your guinea pigs in :)

Are your piggies outdoor or indoor? If they are outdoors, then it is best if you only bathe them in really good weather, as the temperature drop from being in warm water to being outside could seriously put your guinea pig in danger. If they are inside, you wont have this problem.

I hope this helped! :))
Xx

yes thank you. They are indoor piggies so get put back into a nice warm cage when they're done bathing.
I have a white piggy who loves to lay in his urine and turn himself yellow - then I hate to cuddle him because he stinks so thats why he gets bathed quite often.
I sometimes use baby wipes on him to clean his yellow belly when I dont have time to bath them.
They dont seem bothered by the hair dryer at all, but the cold setting does seem really cold - I might try just towel drying them - they just seem to stay soggy for a long time.

Some of my pigs don't mind the hair dryer (Boris seems to actually enjoy it!) but some of the girls hate it.

I use a warm setting on the lowest speed but keep it moving all the time. If you keep your hand between the dryer and the pig it'll shield them from the heat a little. Be careful though as they can be burnt.

My lot usually dry buried underneath towels, but it can take a long time. This time of year I would always give them a blast with the dryer (as long as they don't mind it) yo make sure they're properly dry

You can get piggie shampoo too though. Gorgeous Guineas have a fab range and they make white piggie shine - mine too is rather mucky ;)

Yes I do the same as you in a lot of what youve just said.

Ive used 2 different shampoos for my boars. Theyre from P@H and are quite good. My favourite is the camomile one which helps get rid of offensive odours off whiffy piggies, and the other one is like Johnsons baby shampoo but its for mites......Both are very good and my piggies coats are very shiny after their bath, than compared to how they were before.

However, I ALWAYS make sure that water is no where near their ears when swilling them over with clean water.

I have always bathed my pigs seperately in the kitchen sink and they hate it! i had never even considered putting them all in the bath together. Is this the better option will my pigs feel more secure if they are all together?

Mine are usually bathed in threes and they do seem to stick together (apart from Boris and Marmite who are happy just to potter about in the bath!)

I bath mine with Johnsons small animal shampoo and it smells soo nice!:)p I also use a hair dryer on mine and towel dry them too. Although i only bath mine around every 4 months! :(|)
