How to bond a bereaved guinea pig with a new friend?

My guinea pig Honey passed away last weekend, and her sister Sunshine who is 3 and was bonded with her seems depressed and lonely. I have read that piggies are happiest with a friend.We are going to this piggie this weekend at a rescue. And I was wondering how do you find the right piggy and how do you help them bond? Sunshine was the more dominant pig out of the pair. This new lil one we are going to visit is younger about 11 months and described as more timid. We are hoping to do a good thing by rescuing a new lil one and trying to give Sunny a friend. I am hoping because the rescue is lil younger, but not to young, that it will hopefully be a good pair. Also I have no experience trying to bond a breaved piggy with a new friend. I read the suggested info about bonding, but any kind of advice or more info would be super appreciated! Also just trying to get as much good info from experienced guinea pig parents as I possibly can, I am just trying to do the best I can for my Sunny. Thank you!

Personally I don't have anything to add to the guide as it is quite thorough, but I do wonder what Plan B is if they don't get along? Good luck!

So sorry for your loss............losing a piggy is hard. Just a thought..............Sunshine may still need some time to grieve and might not be open to a new friend yet. Never hurts to try, though.

In the end it’s about whether the piggies like each other.
Have a read of the bonding guides which I found a sanity saver when I bonded 2 pairs of sows.
The first time I bonded a bereaved sow it was with 2 youngsters and was a doddle.
The second time involved chin-offs, teeth chattering, nipping and fur pulling for about 2 weeks before the 2 girls decided they were best friends.
