I need a urine sample from Boxy to take to work with me tomorrow, as I suspect he has diabetes. Don't worry, I don't work in a bank or anything, I work in a vets!

He sat in the litter tray nicely at first...

Then got a bit bored....

Bribery helped for a while...

But not for long....

So we had to resort to drastic measures

And within 30 seconds, a urine sample!

He's produced a whole 5mls for me to go and test tomorrow! :))

Lol! Isn't it funny how they pee on you when you don't want them too, yet can take ages to "perform" when needed :))

Yeah, I knew if he got out of the litter tray, he'd wee all over my bed!

Omg I can't believe how many people on here have their piggies on their beds lol! How on earth do you stop them tiddling everywhere? Mine were always piddling would never risk having them on my bed :))

Awwww bless x) hope everything goes okay tomorrow hes such a good boy fr providing a widdle sample :)

I try not to! I dont have a living room, and with 2 huge pig cages in my room, my only available sitting space is my bed! With Boxy drinking and weeing so much, he's banned from the bed! The others are safe lol

Best of luck with the results!

I use a hamster cage for the same effect... rolleyes

I did consider popping him in a carrier, but then realised that in my rush to tidy up (which I STILL haven't finished) before the boyfriend gets here tomorrow, I shoved a load of stuff in the carriers and chucked them in the bottom of the wardrobe :))

haha! how cute! luckly i have yet to be peed on by any of my 5 newish pigs! :D although my first one always did! same with my dads two pigs -.- so i blanket trained her (my first one) (tought *** blanket was the "safe" zone.. but she was a very neat piggie so she didnt want pee in her zone! so she would walk to the edge, put her butt over then pee! :D LOL! or she would pee on my dads cats when we visited! rolleyes (his cats new they wernt aloud to touch pigs)

GOOD LUCK! :)

I find a nice big slice of cucumber works a treat and some patience - I sit the pig in a bowl with some veggies and wait.

When they get bored I pat there nose and talk to them doesn't take to long for them to produce!

Good Luck at the Vet's. xx

poppy must have needed a wee which was quite convenient when i took her to the vets with suspected urine infection. she wee'd all over the vet and the table when they examined her and the vet said 'quick! i'll get a test stick it's perfect!' ha :)) x

But what do you do with it next to get it to the vets? Try and pour it into a pot with a lid? I've not had to do this yet, but am scared for the day i do. HOpe the results are conclusive so you know how to move forwards

:)) Your vet will give you sample bottles if you ask - G.P surgeries and chemists have them as well. Always useful to have one handy just in case ;)

Catch the urine in a bowl Or litter tray, suck it up with a syringe & pop it into a sterile sample pot :)

Suck the urine up with a syringe, seal it in a freezer bag and store in your fridge until you see the vet.
