How to confront mum?

Away from home? Would you be able to take them with you, or would you have to leave them with your mum? It's amazing really, as lovely as they are, but having animals can be a bit of a burden. (Noone shoot me down for that!). I used to work abroad a lot of the time and was weighing up the idea to do it again. Obviously though I can' t just swan off for months at a time now because of the piggies. Just another thought - who knows what you might want to do over the next 5 or more years? :)

i totally agree with you garry and minty. wait and see how you feel when you go to college. you may feel differently and more studyload than you do now. it is no wonder your mum keeps saying no, maybe she is worried as to what will happen to the pets you have now when you go to college. i would definately wait and have more respect for your mother. O0 O0 O0

Because I'm doing my NVQ in animal care. They would help my Homework. I'd never think differently about my pets. I never give up on pets no matter how bad my robos won't want to be picked up I still talk to them and Love.

maybe this is why she won't let you, and i quote you! which you wrote in a post on the 30th Jan

I've Had to give my hermit crabs away. They are too much. They Need constant spraying and I have to do stuff like homework. And Some things they do like come out of there shells, They look too much like spiders and they scare me a lot by watching me.

I feel so ashamed.

she is 13 well that is what she wrote in her hello i am new?

OMG! That young! Well my mother wouldn't let me have more than one pet at a time when I was that age - and looking back I can't say I blame her!

I badgered my mam for a dog and didn't get one until I am 17. I wouldn't keep harping on about it to her, it will only drive her mad and you won't get your own way.

I am speaking from experience...lol

yes constant whingig and moaning is such a torture!
mind you from what ive read you just ask and try to talk..... but thats probably getting on her nerves too at this stage....
I winge at my hubby for stuff and it falls on deaf ears

College isn't school though. I was a mature student, you can get into uni without qualifications if you are a mature student. >:D

Not that I want to get myself into £15000 worth of debt though. :-\

I'm doing a degree Part time at night school after work two nights a week. It costs £790 per year. Also if your a mature student and earn less than £15,500 its free also you get £250 per year towards books and materials. :) :) Thats through Lincoln University.

My friends daughter lives in Whitby and they go to what they call college at 13. Didnt like the thought of 13 year olds been at the same school as some six formers ie being nearly 18.

When i was at school it was infants juniors then Comprehensive (Big School ;D) :smitten:

That sounds good Lindsay. I can get in to John Moores to do Imaginative Writing in 2009 but I don't know depends on the workload. Ages to decide yet. :)

14-16 year olds go to college as an insentive the majority of the time.

we have 14-16 year olds going to the same college as alot of mature students at the uni...they wonder why i kick up a stink about child protection!

piggies...yeah trust me i've been at college 3 years now 2 as a student 1 so far as a job, my mum has been there for 2 years now as a student, i'm mature about it- my mum wants to study i want to earn my money...sorry but how is it going to awkward...am sure she doesnt really fancy bumping in to your 13/14 year old mates either!

regarding the GPs stop pestering your mum its seriously not going to help...the hermit crab thing isnt making it swing in your favour.
