My mom grew up with lots of animals and doesnt care that much about how many we have.. my dad however thinks we have enough which i could agree on honestly.. we have 3 dogs, a cat and 2 turtles. I take care of the cat and turtles. A few months ago i asked my dad for a guinea pig and he said no because we already have so many pets. I did all of my research so i was broken by the fact that he didnt even want to listen to me talk about guinea pigs. It was the same a year ago when i wanted a rabbit and he said we could get one if one of your pets died. We had four dogs back then and when i asked him months after the dogs death he didnt care about that. I am vegan and I'm studying to become a vet which in my opinion tells you how much animals mean to me. Right now I'm free from school for 2 months and I'm ready to take care of everything: i saved up lots of money and did even more research. Any ideas?

As you mention school I assume you are not an adult (ie 18 years or over) living with your parents?

Hey love,

I will say getting guineas when underage without your parents' 110% support is risky business. With vets, appointments, costs, you will never be ready enough for it on your own..

Have more conversations with your parents, their support with piggies will be very important for you. Either way, you have your whole life to get and care for piggies!

Do make sure to mention if you're underage so the forum will know how to proceed, your and the forum's safety is very important :)

I'm sorry, as you have stated an incorrect age to join the forum, I will have to close your account. To comply with UK law, the forum is strictly over 18s only I'm afraid. You will be more than welcome to rejoin once you turn 18. 👍
