Hi i put them in hole my boar scruffy likes to roll his round in a ball or chuck it around before eating it funny boy!

Sometimes I give them them whole so that the can play about with them - I might give them a couple during the day. If I'm putting them in their veg bowl with everything else then I quarter them.

I usually pop them into the hutches whole ... it is funny to watch my lot try to hold onto them and munch into them at the same time! :))

oh good! I am glad I found this because I just picked up some cherry tomatoes earlier today...I'm gonna try different combinations and hope she will even eat them!

I buy nibble sticks, and they are attatched onto the hutch bars by a little hook. So when my boys have demolished their nibble bar, I take the stick and stick a few cherry tomatoes throught it. I'll take some pigtures soon ;)

cyril will only eat them if i cut them up, if i put them in whole he'd leave them for days on end rather than attempt to eat them! x

I always cut them up and take the seeds out because I worry about them choking on the seeds. Are guinea pigs fine to eat the seeds inside then?

If so I can save a lot of time and mess on the cutting board by giving them whole!

I'm obviously wrong - but i always thought GP's shouldn't eat tomotoes because they would get blisters in their mouths!?

Obviously some bit of wrong information i heard 10 years ago and have always stuck too ! I will certainly be trying tomotoes tonight !

Rea I read that 2 about not feeding them tomatoes but I think its only not to feed them too much rather than not at all as with anything acidic.. I also tend to cut them up and leave the juice and seeds out.

I cut mine in half, but I guess it doesn't really matter. We've got pups at the moment, so I think they'd probably struggle with whole ones! :)

I think they are only bad if fed in excess, and I have never had a problem with the seeds, however they do get irritated if there is too much juice, because it gets all over their chests and they struggle to get it off!
