I live in North West and there does not seem to be any rescue which has single boars or they don't do dating because of covid. I can't have my boy neutered because he has chronic teeth issues and is kinda low weight, albeit stable.

Does anyone know of a rescue that is not too far from North West which currently does boar dating?

Have you checked our rescue locator - Rescue Locator

If they don’t do dating, would they let you take a single boar (if and when they have one) and try to bond yourself at home and then return the piggy if things don’t work out and allow you to try another?

@The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue might be in your area.
@VickiA volunteers for them and may be able to help.

It is always worth calling or e-mailing a rescue as they often don't have all of their current available piggies on the website, as they tend to be busy simply looking after their guinea pigs, ad web site updates aren't always the top priority.

I hope you can find a solution soon.

The Potteries Guinea Pig Rescue based in Kidsgrove does do boar dating.
Single boars & sows rarely make it on to the website as we run a waiting list of people awaiting boar or sow dating. Please email Helen on [email protected] to discuss your situation.

here’s a link Milheaven Guinea Pig rescue they do dating for bereaved piggies, they are in Keighley West Yorkshire not that far from you. Please get in touch before the 17th as they will close over Christmas period

Guinea Pig Bonding

Thanks everyone. I have emailed a few rescues and hoping they will get back to me. I am kind of worried though because he hates every other piggie, even babies! Each time it was the same reaction, fear aggression and if the other would get near he'd leap at them and there'd be a pignado.

Try not to worry, they have lots of experience with fear aggressive piggies and bonding them x

I emailed Millhaven and 2 other rescues two days ago but sadly I have not had a response at all! I guess piggie will have a lonely xmas

I understand why you feel this way - but please be patient, these rescues are very busy and the people that run them are frequently tied up looking after poorly piggies.

I note on the MIlhaven facebook page that they have advised people to submit applications before 17th Dec if people are hoping to adopt before the new year so... I am sure you will hear something soon :)
