Right Ive been offered two pigglys. How do I get round hubby to let me have them.
Any ideas would be greatfully recieved.

Cook him his favourite thing for tea and ply him with booze? :))

Or you could just say how much they need a home and hopefully 2 needy pigs with tug at his heart strings.

You could even get them and then surprise him with 2 new additions :)

Hope you get them.

Argh just hit the thanks button by accident as I'm on my phone lol! Don't suppose it's his birthday coming up? Or maybe you could say they are a mothers day pressie from your 3 piggies hehe!

We always had this problem with my dad...in the end we just got the animals without him knowing, then he couldn't tell us to take them back :))

Say that you know he likes to make you happy and 2 more piggies really would. Spoil him for the night then he might give in!

"They are just staying for a week or two until *name* can pick them up"

When two weeks comes say...

"Shes let me down what am I supposed to do?"

Then carry on like this until he forgets ;)

When I got Hafina (#10), I asked hub whether he would rather shout at me or storm out because I had reserved another piggy in need despite my most solemn promises. That made him laugh, and although he was rather miffed, I'd disarmed him sufficiently!

I also gave ground on his model railway plans, so he got something out of it as well.

Don't tell him about it, bring them in anyway. :D Guys have trouble noticing new things! :(|) Then down the line, if he does notice and he's not happy, just say "You didn't notice them before so they're obviously no trouble!" :P LOL

Hmm what kind of cage set up have you got? Just thinking if it's already big enough for them in any case then you could argue they aren't going to take up any more space and that you'll be responsible for them so it's not going to affect him at all!

And if all else fails how good are you at putting the old crocodile tears on :))

O yes the tears always work, even if it's just to shut you up! :))

say they are a present for HIM for helping you with your diet, or

get one of the kids to get you them for mothers day

:))

You could always get them, give them lots of piggy cuddles while waiting til he comes home from work. Then when you see him coming quickly put them in a box outside the front door! He'll feel so sorry for them when he 'discovers' what someone has left poor innocent piggys out in the cold! Teehee!

I remember when a girl at school was giving away her hamster, I asked my parents & they said no. I think I said

"buuuuuuuuuuuuuut they're going to have her put to sleep if no one takes her...":x

This was how we got Dodge, it was what I said to my mum, but I'll be honest, I actually thought this would happen to him as he had been in the P@H adoption centre for ages and we were worried what they would do with him!

Fairly sure now even P@H wouldn't have a healthy animal PTS...but you never know...:{

With my last two, I did covert ops for a week that only me and mum knew about. Told OH I had to 'do something horsey' on Saturday so couldn't see him, he doesn't get too involved with the ponios so left me to it. When he came round later I said 'oh yeah, this is Snickers, this is Bounty. They live here now. Please don't hate me.'

WELLL. My set up is as follows....
Gaga, boofs and Bee are in my huge cage in the back lobby. Bumble was on his own in the cage I got from p&h when I realised Boofs was pregnant 2 days after I bought her home. And Tam is outside in the 2 storey hutch hubby built. Today I put Bumble in the bottom part and hubs screwed the hatch down until further notice.lol So I have an empty cage.
Now these two females I have been offered are currently in a c&c cage. Something I would like to have , but with my cat TY its impossible. I'm not sure its fair on the girls going from a c&c to a propper cage. Although they will be cared for.
Hubby is planning on building me a 3 storey hutch, for the summer months, and Boofs and bee can go out there. Hub has said I can eventually have one of those corner cages from zooplus(as weve sold the table where it would godrool)And I will be keeping Gaga indoors. So I will have rooooooom wont I.

Do you think its fair for me to put them in a cage when theyve been in a c&c?

just say you are looking after them for school or someone whilst they are on the easter holidays and then say after a couple of weeks that they wondered if you might know of someone who would like them by then he should be ok with them.

eeek i have the same problem. the other half says i'm lucky hes let me have the ones i'v got {:|

I hate to put a spanner in the works, its all very well to say I have space for 2 piggies but do you have time and money as having 7 pigs is a big deal.

With more piggies you have to accept there is also more Vet Care, in the last 2 months I have spent over £150 in Vet care, and one of my pig has a follow up appointment at the end of the month so thats going to cost more money.

If we have another horrible winter will you have enough space to bring them all in if necessary?

I only say this, as I was bitten quickly by the bug. I have 6 pigs, I did have 7 sadly lost Bette in November and although I love them all I do feel it is alot to look after and can be very costly between food, bedding, vet care, time and grooming it takes alot of my time. I would never change them but I do feel 6 is to many. Although I have money, time is difficult especially when a pig is very poorly like Bette was I had to call in sick to work so I could get her to the vet. I was up at 6am to syringe feed, I did my very best to provide for her, and she never wanted but it was very emotionally draining and stressful.

Ofcourse if the answer is yes, you have time, money and space then add away. Don't jump in without thinking!

My pigs never got poorly until recently and between this year and last the amount of times we have been to the Vet is alot! :)).
