Step 1: Measure pellets for piggies
Step 2: Try to convince piggies to stop chewing on cage bars
Step 3: Remove any stray poo from Lexa's bowl
Step 4: Add pellets to Lexa's bowl
Step 5: Remove Latte from Latte's bowl
Step 6: Remove mini-fleece from Latte's bowl
Step 7: Remove Latte from Latte's bowl
Step 8: Remove any poo from Latte's bowl
Step 9: Remove Latte from Latte's bowl
Step 10: Reach around Latte to add pellets to Latte's bowl

So what's your process?

Step 1: Let Thea, Bramble and Misty know its breakfast time.
Step 2: Ignore Bramble as she is bouncing around the cage in excitement.
Step 3: Open up the hutch and scatter feed pellets around hutch for Thea who instantly falls on them.
Step 4: Ignore Bramble as she is now up on her hind legs begging for breakfast as you are feeding Thea.
Step 5: Open cage and scatter feed pellets to Bramble and Misty who go and hide in a hidey.
Step 6: Tell Misty and Bramble they are silly and they now have to play hunt the pellet amongst the hay.

We used to go….
Step 1: Tell boys it’s too early for pellets.
Step 2: Repeat multiple times! (& add hay)
Step 3: Distract Hamish from chewing the bars, at least 80%of the time. The other 20% he would be looking in hay for pellets before they were hidden.
Step 4: Hand feed one pellet each.
Step 5: Scatter/hide rest of pellets.
Step 6: Tell Billy to stop begging & go look for pellets.

Now….
Step 1: Make sure Billy’s distracted.
Step 2: Sneak Hamish a few pellets!

Billy is officially on a pellet free diet. Hamish is getting elderly and has earned the right to continue having a few, despite his awkward neighbour.

Step 1: Add in fresh hay.
Step 2: Tell Stella to get off the pellet bowl.
Step 3: Put a sprinkle of pellets in the bowl.
Step 4: Scatter/hide the rest.
Step 5: Hear begging wheeks 20 minutes later and explain that they can't have more.

Step 1: measure pellets
Step 2: give Tegan (dog) a pellet (I'm glad I'm not the only one who gives my dog piggie food @weepweeps 😂)
Step 3: open back door to go to hutch and hear Jewel immediately start screaming her head off
Step 4: Give Mocha a pellet since she stands up cutely
Step 5: watch in amusement as Jewel tumbles backwards trying to stand up as well
Step 6: give Jewel a pellet cos you're proud of her attempts
Step 7: repeat steps 4 - 6 a couple of times
Step 8: scatter/hide the rest of the pellets

Step 1 - enter the sitting room to squeals and running about Piggies …very excited
Step 2 - open the sitting room door to let Oscar (the dog) out
Step 3 - that signals to Bobby and Geoff that breakfast is coming ….more excited running around
Step 4 - the boys hear their cupboard opening …..breakfast is coming …..
Step 5 - put pellets and pinch of forage into bowls
Step 6 - put bowls into cage and Bobby immediately rushes to the first bowl followed by Geoff
Step 7 - Bobby decides Geoff’s bowl is tastier so opts to swap and gentle Geoff moves to the other bowl

( Geoff always gets extra coriander without Bobby noticing and I always give him a bit of lettuce first - Bobby has no manners !)

Chester also gets cucumber twice a day at veggie time. 😆
