My 2 females are really scared. I expected this but I haven’t had guinea-pigs in a long time and I forgot how nervous they can be. I’ve put some more hiding places in for them and filled with hay. I’ve also put a big piece of vetbed on the floor to make it more comfortable. I’ve ordered some toys for them. They’re eating and going to the toilet, and I know mostly it’ll just take time but does anyone have any advice for helping them settle in. They live in the shed

When I rescued my boys in September they barely walked around when I waa in the room or approached the cage.

Following the above guides, talking to them, sitting next to their cage watching videos or reading, hand feeding them (this tooka fews weeks to a month), being around them, has all helped them trust me further.

However, even after two and a half months my boys are still a bit skittitsh. My boys had a very rough time before coming to me so that is definitely a factor.

Hopefully your girls will warm up to you and become less skittish. However, some pigs may not want to be cuddled, help or even floor time. Good luck!
