Hello everyone,

Just a quick one: my silkie boar Casper is roughly eight months old and is as feisty as you would expect. I’ve seen several videos of owners cleaning their boar’s bits to prevent a build-up in that area. I know piggies mostly keep themselves clean (besides a little help from me brushing and trimming his fur at the back to keep it from getting matted) but I was just looking for tips on how to know if your boar needs cleaning down there and if I do need to clean him, how best I should go about it to avoid hurting or stressing him out.
Any advice is appreciated!

I’ve had my boars for 2.5 years and think I’ve only ever cleaned their anal sacks the once. If I see it, I’ll pull out any hay or debris that’s just visible. Otherwise I let them get on with it.
