how to make a 2 tier cage with 2 single cage?

I've never done this before, but I'm assuming it would be a case of cutting a hole in the base of 1, and making a ramp to join the lower and upper tier. However, please remember guinea pigs are floor roaming animals and need a minimum of 120x60cm for 2 sows on one single level to have adequate space. Other levels are simply a bonus but not counted towards total space as guinea pigs are not great climbers and your piggies may not ultimately use the ramp

If you can I would attach the cages on the same level to give them more ground level space which would be more beneficial for them than an additional level
