Hi

Ive had no such luck as to finding a run which will be strong enough for my piggies to be safe against my dog as she will keep trying to get underneath it until she has succeeded.

I have asked my dad to build me one as he will use larger and heavier wood and will also attach lead so my dog wont be able to move it.

Any more suggestions?

Obviously it needs to be tough wood as you say, with a strong top. (hopefully the dog won't jump on top) It will need to be secured to the ground also, maybe with something like tent pegs that are removable. The guinea pigs will probably get used to the dog roaming around the run, most do. Provide cover within the run for your guineas to hide. If you dog does actively try to nudge, or scratch to get into the run, you will have to only have them out together when you are there all the time. Usually they get used to each other fairly quickly and ignore each other. Hopefully this will happen with yours. xx

ye my dog isnt to fussed about my piggies when i am holding them and they are in the same room. But I'm sure if she saw them running aorund her natural instinct would be to run after them.

Hopefully all should be alright.
fingers crossed

thanks

If your dad uses heavier wood then that should be enough! you could double wire the run......do not use lead as if the guinea pigs or dog lick the lead they could be piosoned!

we were going to put lead on top so the guinea pigs wouldnt b near it and also wrap it up in material or something so the dog wouldnt be harmed.
Do you think this will be ok?
