I really want more piggies and OH is not in agreement!

I lost one of my two boys the other week so Merry is now on his own. He's happy enough but I thought some next door neighbours would help him feel more loved as he is a bit old to be bonded with another boar.

OH thinks we should wait til he has gone before we get any more piggies. I had offered to foster for walsall RSPCA and she put the brakes on that too. Grrr.

Now I see on the rescue threads that there are 68 piggies needing fostered or some daft owner is going to have them put to sleep and I bet OH says I can't help with that either. Most annoying. I just want to help piggies that need it. ( and add a few more to my potential herd...)

Sorry rant over, just needed to vent.

it kills me too, as we only have one salary coming in at the moment, i darent commit to anymore, so sad, i feel helpless :0

Yeah, I know what you mean.

We can afford to keep more but OH thinks I won't manage all the looking after.. as time management is not my forte. Not fair.

Maybe she is still grieving for Pip ? Sure she will agree to more piggies at some point but perhaps she feels guilty at the thought of 'replacing' him so soon - grief affects us all in different ways :(

True - hadn't thought of that. I know she generally doesn't think other piggies are good enough cos she doesn't know them. She hates pet shop pigs as she thinks they are boring and character-less.

She is on the edge of autistic spectrum disorder so sometimes change is hard too.

Maybe it's her I need to take boar dating not Merry!

I had to wait for five years until I could expand from two piggies - although I'd never counted on ending up with SO many piggies in my group. Anyway, it has grown slowly over the course of nearly two years and there have been rows over it.

However, more piggies ARE a time and money commitment, especially if you keep them in separate cages. There have been times when I have not been well that I have been struggling to keep on top of mine.
