As you will all know, my piggy Clare was at the vets this week with a badly injured eye, which needed to be removed. Prior to surgery she was on antibiotics for a couple of days, and I noticed that they had spelt her name incorrectly on her medicine. They had spelt it Claire instead of Clare.

When I went to collect her after the surgery, I was about to say, by the way she is Clare without an I, and then thought, oh my god, I can't say that!

Now she is fine and not bothered in any way whatsover about only having one eye, I can really see the funny side of it! In fact after the really traumatic past few weeks it's quite nice to have something to have a bit of a giggle about.

Debbie you know how much this has tickled me, bless her for giving you (and me) a much needed laugh :)):)):)):))

Oh my god i nearly wet myself when Niki told me this! Clare is fab for giving you a giggle after all the sadness of recently! xx

People spell my name Louis, Loiuse. I have even seen it spelt Looeeze! What in gods name! That doesn't make me laugh that infuriates me and has me turning into a renowned fighter of German origin. (that is what my name means!)

Ah I would have said something...ROFL only because it does drive me mad! My vet had poor Cuzzy down as female! Er...where was he looking? :))

She goes back for her post op check on Monday so I'll tell them then. It will probably give them all a giggle too. It just seemed so wrong on Wednesday night when she had only had the surgery a few hours before. Seeing her so well now, and not at all bothered by the situation, is so lovely, and it really has given me something to laugh about for the first time in weeks. She will always now be known as Clare without an I.

Poor Cuzzy, I bet the poor little chap had quite a complex LOL Simon constantly refers to Demon as a 'he', but I think that may be down to her name and also her demeanor LOL

aww heehee funny. but i don't think it's that much a big deal if the names spelt wrong :P Glad your piggie is ok and sorry she had to loose an eye 8...

I am sure when you tell them that they will have a giggle. Not at poorly Clare's expense, but I guess it was on the tip of your tongue to tell them and then you thought, hey ... perhaps not! :))

I hope Clare is doing well, love her xx

Erm... I'm guilty of telling the vets to spell the names of my guinea pigs right.

They spelt "Pheobe" as "Phoebe"

AND

"Maggie-May" as "Maggy-Mae"!

I was INFURIATED!!

As a fellow Claire, I can understand how infuriating it would be to Clare to have people spell it wrong. I've had mine spelt Clair, Clare, Clarie... grrrr! x

Oh bless little Clare hope she is ok Debbie.:rose

As for name spelling. Lindsay comes in all crazy ways of being spelt I'm really not bothered either infact when i was about 12 i wanted it to have a trendy way of spelling so used to write it myself as Linzi 8;) lol

you dude! x

I find it infuriating that my name is now being spelt Loueeze! It's like Kleenezze or Fabreeze! No it wrong, wrong, worng!

Just to update you, she is now spelling her name Claire, as when I spoke to Simon the vet, he said but its right, she is Claire with one I. I'm not making her Clare without any I's. LOL

She's completely back to normal now. Losing an eye isn't any handicap to her. She's still bossy, and full of life. She also recovered from the operation almost instantly.

I only saw this last night but didn't have time to post - I love the name story under the circumstances, but more importantly it's great news she's doing well xx
