My pigs live in a wooden hutch and have been chewing the ramp up to the second floor. Their shed set up also includes a little wooden house (pic included) and I notice they've started chewing this ramp too. I've seen lots of chew stopper sprays but Amazon reviews seem to say they don't work. What else can be done to stop this? I don't want them to chew it so much the ramps become unusable and we have to replace the whole thing. They have plenty of chew toys in their hutch which they are using as well.

Hi. They just love to chew. As long as they have lots of hay and maybe a loo roll tube. I don’t think there is a way to stop them.

:agr:
Other than providing enrichment and lots of hay, to keep them occupied but in reality, they are going to chew.
There are teeth marks and chunks taken out all over my hutch.
I don’t tend to use ramps anymore, but I had a piece of vetbed stuck on with Velcro on the ramp for grip. They couldn’t get to the ramp much because of the vetbed which saved the ramp from further destruction. Other areas of the hutch (the bottom of it frame when they are out in the shed etc) still got chewed but they don’t tend to do it as much now

All our wooden items have special chew marks on them, but I think it would take a very long time (many generations of piggies) to make something totally unusable.
I find that some are more 'chewy' than others, but in general the best solution seems to be giving lots of different things to chew on, although each pig will still have their favourite!
