As many if you know Theo made mamouth journey to pick up his wifepigs just over a week ago now.
In this week the girls have gained 65g each and have filled right out and he has lost 83g!!(week to week that is).
I know he is more active than before and had the journey there and back but I see hime ating all the time, he's bright and not hiding or anything so I would just like advice on anyone thats had single piggies when they have rejoined a group and how much loss is normal.

There is no bullying going on but they do tend to take the veggies out his mouth than my hand. I also was trying to get them onto nuggets gradually so i just added some nuggets to the gerty. Theo was on nuggets before so maybe he's not been eating the gerty and not had enough nuggets.

Ive switched back to just nuggets seeing as the girls are thriving ont he hay and veggies anyway and I am going to weigh him again tonight. Ive given him 6 nuggets last night and then again this mroning on my knee to see if he will hold his weight until tonight,.

If he has lost I will dirve straight over to the vets this evening if there is an appointment if not it will be tommorrow night.

Any advice much appreciated worried sick and really hoping the brightness means its just related tot he changes in his life.

No ideas, but maybe he's getting the exercise he needs with his new wifeys? :x

Seriously, is he drinking enough/too much? Any other signs of stress? Have you had a look at teeth? Is he pooping?

I am sure you have run through all these anyway!

If he has lost that amount in a week, it may need investigation if you have eliminated your own theories...
If he is eating his usual amounts etc. he may just be a little 'overwhelmed' at his new buddies so keep a close eye. A 20g drop daily is definite for a vet visit but tbh, I would see how things go for a couple more days, he certainly doesn't 'sound' ill.
If you are trying to change the pellets, maybe he is not eating as much as you think or he is not too willing - pop an extra pellet dish in (my trios and herd have 2/3 dishes of everything so they all eat a good amount each)
He has had a major change in his life so would honestly put it down to that for now so would weigh him daily at the same time.
Keep us updated and hope little fella settles very soon xx>>>

Me too- I got quite a shock in honesty. I was going to weigh him today and just do the girls while they were out, when i was carrying him to the scales I said to him "Ims ure you can wait til tommorrow and your fine but I'll weigh you all at once and then you can get back to your girlies". You never can eb too careful.

When he was this weight before though when he was ill he was skin and bone and so dull and lethargic and he wasnt eating. Where as he doesnt even feel that much lighter to me. His hair is nice and shiny and eyes bright.

They dont have mess with your mind. Counting the time as desperate to get home and weigh him.

Pellets are where most of the calories come into a piggy diet, so if he's eating much less, combined with being more active then he can lose some extra weight quite quickly.

Nevertheless I would have him checked if he loses any more weight.

Good news- he put on 25g when I got in. Will continue handfeeding the dry nuggets a few in the morning and evening until hes back out of beign underweight.
Such fragile little creatures, why people think they are sturdy hardy animals that can stay outside all winter I'll never know
