Hey guys,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while.

I'm not really coming to terms with the loss of Jemima and Casran very well so...

But I miss you all so I thought I'd stop by and say Hi.

Hope everyone is well?

Hi Dawn, Lovely to see your avatar. You have been missed on the forum. Sorry to hear you are struggling, I know how hard it is. Grief is such a complex thing and everyone's journey through it is unique but always so difficult to come to terms with. Take time to do things that make you feel happier and be kind to yourself. You are a wonderful caring person x x

I also missed you around here. It's lovely to see you around even if it's only to say hi!
You know you have us all here to talk whenever you want/need to

@TheAurora it's so good to hear from you Dawn. Have often thought of you and your fur babes. Having lost my beloved Mr Ted and the irreplaceable Connie within a few weeks of each other earlier this year I am still feeling their loss terribly. I'm lucky that my friends, family and colleagues all accept and understand that this is a true grief. I hope you are equally blessed with sympathetic and loving support. You know that here on forum you can always come and talk to us, we understand.

I had 4 piggies. Now I have 3. Sadly we lost Alby on the 10th August. He was very elderly, we feel honoured they we had him in our lives for 2 years. The other 3 are doing well still up to mischief.

Thank you.

I don't really talk to that many people (apart from my dad and a few friends who are 'animal people') because I'm not sure others would understand.

It's so hard isn't it.

The sad thing is I don't think I'll ever be able to have any more piggies.

@Julie M my heart just fell out! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Those gorgeous fluff balls.

So sorry about little Alby, he looked wonderful.

I could nibble on all those cheeky chops! xx

Take your time Dawn. This is grief. You have lost 2 hugely important loving beings from your life. Be kind to yourself xx. Mollie sends you a fuzzy fur face kiss

@VickiA what an angel. I could kiss her little face. I bet you do all the time! Butter wouldn't melt...

Yeah, take your time. It's been 7 months since Teddy crossed the Rainbow Bridge and I still cry every few days, or when I think too much about it... But the smiles when thinking about him are a lot more usual than the sadness. Time is the key, definitely.

Yes it is a struggle. I still cry myself to sleep every night thinking of their beautiful little bodies.

We understand

I'm afraid I still shed a tear when I think of losing my gorgeous boar Max . However, it's a great comfort being amongst people who can identify with what it's like to grieve over the loss of these adorable bundles of fluff.

I confess, this isn't putting me off keeping Guinea Pigs . But, I think I'd better stick at 4 - or face being in the divorce courts (anyone know a good lawyer ?).

One of my older sows had surgery for ovarian cysts and is currently sporting a very trendy Mohican hairstyle ! ...

Thank you for your post!

No, I guess I'll get more in the future, when I have my own house and a proper job. But in the meantime I can still have some piggy cuddles thanks to my boyfriend's (@Hans) piggies, lol. Not like those cuddles can replace Teddy's but is always nice to see happy piggies in real life.

Sorry to hear you are struggling to come to terms with your loss but I am not surprised, you were such a wonderful piggy mum. Grief comes in many ways and we all know they are not just guinea pigs! I have been wondering how you are and missing you on the forum, so pleased to hear from you. We are all here for you if you need us, or you are welcome to PM me if you want to chat about piggies or other stuff.
