ive been reading up on Guinea Pigs on their care etc. but i cant seem to find anything on how to bond with your Guineas. can you form a bond with your pigs? if so how do you do it i had my 2 out for abit of exercise before and i sat on the floor with them giving them little strokes when they came up to me and they bit my toes a couple of times :o :o they dont seem as scared of me now i was just wondering if sitting with them when their out for a bit of exercise is a good way to form a bond with them? i did this with my rabbits which worked but i know rabbits and Guineas are diffrent :-\.

also my black and White pig which ive named Spike every now and again he drags his right leg across the floor :o surely thats not normal! I'm having to take them to the vets on Thursday as i think they both have mites so il mention the dragging of the leg to her while I'm there unless yous tell me I'm being abit 98) for worrying over everything hehe I'm like this with my buns as well :D ;D :P

sorry if I'm annoying yous all with all these questions :P

feed them while theyre on your lap, that often works,or just sit and watch tv with them while you stroke them..they soon learn to chill out and lay with you and trust you

thanks for the bonding tip O0 il keep that in mind ;D

Holding and talking to them too :) Get them used to your voice :)

Yep. For instance when we 1st got the boys they'd jump if you spoke, coughed etc. And now they can sit on hubby while he's watching footie and don't even flinch at all the associated shouting at the telly ;D

Just wondering how long did that take? I've had the pigs since boxing day and once they're out of their cage they are lovely, but if I cough, move, make a noise etc. they run away :(

Not long with my lot - they have to get used to the sound of my chair too! ;) All piggies are more jumpy around the others as they know my voice and 'noises' more.

Guin will still run away from Mike, but doesn't really flinch when he speaks
