Hello,
Ive been bad and taken in another piggie. ") She popped into work not long before i left today with the RSPCA. Little sow who has been nicknamed Humbug was left abandoned today in a filthy cage and brought into the center. Being so skinny but also bloated they popped her into work for the vets to take a look. I am pretty sure the poor little mite is in the early stages of pregnancy and one of the vets agreed. So instead of letting her go back to the rehoming center to sit alone in a cage i decided to take her home as I've had a few rescues with litters before. The poor little girl is 307g. Probably making her 8-12 weeks old due to her being so underweight and malnourished. Shes bright though and took the journey home on the train all in her stride and was screaming on the platform after hearing me rustle a bag... she'll fit right in. Just a case now of feeding her up carefully with some alfalfa and veg. She was hungry
Just slightly concerned by her roan markings, fingers crossed i am wrong about the pregnancy or she wasn't mated with a roan boar. Will keep you all posted - shes currently settled in her cage snoozing in the hay.
Here she is...
