Humphrey - Memory loss?

Hey everyone,

Humphrey has been acting very strange today - usually when i walk past his cage hes the first one at his door waiting for a fuss or veggies - no sign of him this morning - he was sat in the corner of his cage sniffing around.

I popped my hand in which usually he comes running to - instead he was climbing the walls trying to get away from me.

He usually wheeks ALOT! Not a peep from him - he's acting like he doesn't even know me.

I've had him out and checked him over - his weight is the same, eyes and nose clear - fur clear, he's walking fine, eating fine, drinking fine, hes not holding his head to the side, his poops are fine and he's weeing without any issues.

Any idea's? Yesterday he was cleaned out and changed from fleece to shavings but he's used to shavings anyway. I really don't have a clue!

He was absolutely fine yesterday now he just seems scared of everything.
 
Aw, bless him, maybe something has spooked him? I'm not really sure, just keep a close eye on him and if anything changes maybe a vet check would be the best thing for him. Well wishes and vibes on their way x

Only thing i can think of is a stroke but he's only 2 - hes still running around doing his usual thing but as soon as anything goes near the cage he runs off in panic! I mean this is a guinea pig that usully rumble strutts at the dog!

I can't think of anything that could have spooked him. Maybe i've done something and he's sulking?
 
Why don't you pm both Suzy and Pebbles......they're really clever in this area x)

I'm going to try and get humphrey into the vets - something doesn't seem right

Think i've solved it - think he may have been cold!

I've Just given him Jessie's cube bed (its just been washed) and stuffed it full of hay he's now snuggled in their munching on hay. He did seem a little shivery when he was on my lap but i thought that may have been fear. does explain why he was trying to get in to my jumper!

I better go make Jessie another cube now before she starts shivering lol
 
I'd say he sounds fine health wise, hopefully its the change in weather and/or something spooked him. Hope he's ok now. :)

Humphrey has a severe case of...................................LAZYITIS


Yep he's as fit as a fiddle but refusing to move from his warm comfy cube! He's even been in their demanding room service of his evening veggies!


Maybe the ripe old age of 2 is hitting him pretty hard :))
 
My 3 pigs suffer greatly from LAZYITIS
They have today as its cold but my mum wont put the heating on ¬_¬

Glad to see hes much better now

Oh he's that and so much more! He's the boss in this house even the poor dog gets rumble strutted at!

Little sod has me wrapped round his little paws!

Poor dog doesn't know what to think of it, he wags his tail then looks at me as if to say "what is he doing -its scary" then he runs off lol

Glad to hear he's ok :) He sounds like my girl Pumpkin (RIP) Our dog loves our small animals, thinks they're her puppies x) We introduced her to pumpkin (strictly supervised) and pumpkin came strutting over and began nibbling our dogs toes {:|

My mums guinea pigs when i was about 8 used to curl up by the fire with our two dogs getting licked to death! Every night they were in our living room - the dogs absolutely adored them. The budgie on the other hand was a completely different story! :))

MY DOG DOES THE SAME!!

i can belive there are other dogs out there that do that . i thought she was just stupid because of inbreedingx) is it a jackie russell?

No she's a mix of everything, deff got some staffy in her though. My sister's friend had two jack russells that would get in her guinea pigs cage every night and sleep with them x)x)
