Hey guys
As u guys know I separated the mom and her son 3 weeks ago and kept the son and dad in different cage. It's 7 am here and I woke up to give them their fresh grass and saw that the boar is excessively humping the son and he's squeaking alot. In fact sometimes even the baby boy is also humping his dad. This has not happened ever after their bonding and introduction. They are very loving to each other but suddenly it's started happening. It may be the season but any kind of help would be grateful❤

It’s a normal part of dominance behaviour and is done by both genders. The baby squeaking is a sign of submission so just leave them to it. Make sure there are only hides with two exits and have two of everything as well.

Boars: Teenage, Bullying, Fighting, Fall-outs And What Next?
Thank u @Siikibam but actually the problem right now is that the dad boar is constantly chasing him and humping him and not even letting the baby eat or sleep in peace😭

Lol a big drum and trumpet band came outside our home and started playing their loud song for a ritual of marriage in our neighborhood and all the piggies went sleeping scared of them in their hideys let's see what happens after they wake up

Ok. That’s when the first surge of hormones occurs. So the humping and chasing can seem to last for ages. How long has it been going on for? Sometimes a temporary separation (a couple of hours) can help. But unfortunately it’s the hormones at the moment.

It just started an hour ago and has stopped at the moment and both are sleeping it went for an hour basically

Yes that’s pretty normal. They do eventually stop but just be aware it may happen again.

It can be stressful for us but to them it’s the norm. Just keep an eye on them and see what happens.

Jut keep an eye on them and see what happens.

6-7 months

That is the age when the testosterone output is a lifetime high.

Please get a tunnel or a cardboard box lined with soft hay whose exits are too small for dad to get in but where your son can find refuge when the humping is getting too much. Otherwise a two day separation with a divider, followed by an re-introduction on neutral ground outside the cage may also help.

PLEASE take the time to read the links below so you understand how the teenage months typically run, what you can do to mitigate them, spot the danger signs (bullying) and have a much greater chance of your boars making it through to adulthood together. It has taken me days to write each guide. I can't repeat the vital information in full length every time as it is a very complex subject.
