We feed our boys their veg first thing in the morning and late afternoon, they have unlimited hay/pellets but as soon as I seem to go near them they " ask or food" I'm still new to guineas so is this normal ? or can they still be hungry ?

Guinea pigs are hungry and begging as soon as the last load of food has disappeared... They are essentially fur-wrapped black holes with a big wheek attached!

You can either learn to ignore them or leave some veg for little treats throughout the day, like tiny pieces of cucumber or herbs.

Mine are always begging for food. They act like they haven't eaten in a week, even though I've just fed them half an hour earlier! :)

Thank you both for the quick reply :), I was worried that I wasnt feeding them enough but was also scared I would overfeed them if I gave them something everytime they asked !
Thanks again :)

I agree BLACK HOLES lol

Patches is always up at the cage when i walk in nd i give him a little stroke nd when I'm done he straight to th food bowl ... the look of dissapointment on his face when there is nothing there!

but he cant be starvinf he weighs 1.4kg! x :))

I only give mine a bowl of dry and a bigger bowl of veggies, if the dry runs out I give them more, if the veg runs out its very rare. I love that they know how to manipulate us :P
