Hello. I’ve seen several Of these, but nothing really similar to mine.
so tonight I was trying to give my piggy medicine and he was struggling in my arms so I gave up and put him in his cage.
upon putting him down, he seemed to slightly limp when walking. Though there’s no screams of pain.
he stands on it, but when he can he lifts it up so there’s no weight on it. He’s eating drinking, even ran on it and popcorned a few times. But I’m still concerned.
we can’t get to my cavy vet until Thursday (2 days from now) and I’m worried on if it’s badly injured.

He lays on it as well, stands on the cage and his hut.
but he lays down now while eating and lifts it up when he can , whenever he can.

Hadley has done that to her front paw a couple of times getting up and down the ramp into the cage (she doesn't see well from cataracts and tends to leap for the ramp too soon sometimes.) It has always improved within a couple of days. I would keep an eye on it to make sure there is no bruising/swelling and hopefully it's just tender and he will improve quickly.

Hi!

Sprains are pretty common in guinea pigs. They can happen in any joint from the shoulder/hip downward; so the problem is not necessarily located in the foot when a piggy is reluctant to put weight on it.

However, as your piggy is only limping slightly, it is a minor issue and will hopefully sort itself out in a few days, the same way as a mildly sprained ankle or a twisted knee.

You should see a vet only as an emergency if your piggy is completely unable to put weight on one leg, if a leg is sticking out in a funny angle or is clearly broken or bleeding.
If your piggy is hopping/limping badly but is still able to put weight on their leg, then please see a vet promptly (i.e. ideally within a day or as soon as possible during regular opening hours).

I hope that this helps you?
All the best for a quick recovery!

He seems to be walking quite a bit better this morning. A lot less limping than last night, and he seems to put a little more normal weight on it.
though I could just be jumping to say he’s better because it worried mommy !

The white leg is the hurt one, but he seems to stand on it normally. Last night he’s pick it up when standing, or lay down.
is that a good sign?!
