In the next few week hubby is building my pigglys a 3 storey hutch. Tam will be the top in a single storey. And Boofle and Bee will be in a two storey. My gaga will be staying indoors.
Today he suggested about security lights as well. See he does love them reallyxoxo
Hes also building me a storage box for their hay, food and other odds and sods.
xx>>>

Everyone says that.lol.
Ive told him that he should get into the business of making hutches. Hed make a blinking fortune.
Hes a very talented man. And is quite happy pottering in his shed.

Heres my one hes already made. Bumble my only boar will be having this one to himself, as hes more of an explorer than Tam, whos quite happy to doss around taking everything in.

Yeah he would do so well. Most hutches are so fragile and even thought my piggles don't my bunnies chew everything!

Wish I or my OH was good at stuff like that!

-cThis one weighs a ton.And is as solid as a rock.
Hes always helping out and suggesting ideas as well. I'm so lucky to have someone thats understanding about my 5 pigglys

aww bless him! You'd then have space for another couple of piggies indoors wouldn't you.... hmmmm did I hear of a couple of piggies being offered? :))

OOO as much as Id love to Its just the expence isnt it.I'm not struggling now. But you know. I would like one more to make it an even number..lol:(|)

Your hubby wouldn't like to make me a hutch if I paid him would he?

Can't get the dimensions I want anywhere!

It is excellent. And lined out with wipe clean type table cloth stuff. So easy to clean. Even if he did one every other month, hed still be happy with what he gets for them. Id say about 70 for my size, and go up price wise the bigger it gets. But its if people are willing to pay that much. Plus coming to collect as well, as they are really heavy. The rubbish hutches that are about arnt worth the wood they are made out of.
I think he should do it. I really do.

Maybe he could do a facebook page to advertise, see what interest he gets. If he gets a lot of interest he could pick and choose his commissions and do as many or as few as he wants. Only problem would be postage, but if he was making them for people who want a certain specification they'd be more willing to pay the delivery charges xox

:(|)Ive said to him that if he did them in the summer months, then he will enjoy it more, as he will have free run of the garden to make them. My one he did in the wind and the rain with his fishing brolly over the entrance to his shed.lol Took him longer than he'd planned.
I shall let you know what he thinks when hes built my block of flats(as hes calling it):(|)

What size you after?
And where are you?

Well I need a 4ft x 2ft (which is hard enough to find despite being the flipping RSPCA recommended size) but need a height of 2ft too so I can get a ramp in...I basically want what I have done myself with a Poppy Den but they don't make them anymore and they aren't that brilliant anyway!

I'm just near J7 of the M25, would need to see if I could find someone with a van before I could commit tho :{

There is a bloke who makes hutches not too far from you, local competition :o

Not a bad price though. Hubby would have to price up the wood, the latches and hinges and the felt roof, and take it from there. Hes fishing at the moment so havnt had the chance to ask him.
When he was making mine he refused to use wooden blocks as door stops.

Good, I did enquire about this other guy's hutches but was put off by the blocks and they didn't seem deep enough. I also couldn't get a van either!

I need a pickup truck...

they are very good prices ... I'm currently building my own hutch at the moment 4x2x2 Ive managed to do it with whats lying around the garage , but i priced up a sheet of 9mm ply which will do the roof and base and both sides and at £22 a sheet , that's a brilliant price for a complete 4ft hutch
