Am I the only female on here whose husband moans that since getting piggies everything seems to revolve around them? Mine is spitting his dummy out about ours he says he likes them but my enthusiasm for them and getting their personal requirements sorted is taking over. I think he just doesn't have any interests and is jealous. My piggies are very very important I have only just discovered these wonderful creatures and love them! In fact I would be happy to spend the entire day and evening with my pigs rather than him, the old misery! I agree I have spent a bit of time with them over the first few weeks because I was trying to bond my boar and so at floor time needed to be onhand incase of upset, but since getting my two girls and accepting that my boar is happy single then I haven't spend nearly as much time as I would like. haha
grrrrgrrrrgrrrr

I'm not even married to mine yet and he thinks the same rolleyes. Just because I love them more than him :p:)). He's very jealous of my piggles at the moment...not sure why ?/

mine is generally ok, but he does moan they get looked after better than him, and says I spend more time cleaning their houses than ours!

My OH's main issue is the space I've dedicated to them. Everytime he looks at the c+c cage he tell me "it's not a bloody horse you have" :D. Although, I've personally seen him giving them cuddles and the look of disappointment on his face when CheesyPuff refused to eat a bit of parsley off his hand.

My other half loves the Guinea pigs as much as I do. :D Especially our only sow. :) He spoils them all rotten, hugs and kisses them all the time! A few times I've spotted him sitting in the C&C cage with them! :)

The only thing he gets miffed about is the hay getting everywhere...

<3~ xx

I have the exact same problems with my husband. He says they are all i think about, eat better than him, take up so much room and make a mess! He does always I insist on stroking them if I walk past with one and I catch him talking to them sometimes. Think he's feeling bit neglected! He did say he
Might start sqeaking if he want something!

My OH only grumbles when I moan I have too much to do ie getting back late from work and saying "I've got to feed the piggys and the buns yet"! He says "Well they are yours" True but if he had maybe thought to put tea on then I wouldn't mind in the slightest!

Maybe he could get involved more, not necessarily clean them out while you have the cuddles but it's your hobby and if he likes to play football, go out walking or visit museums you'd go with him! (Ok probably not the first one...:)) xx

I have the same problem, and with 11 piggies now taking over the living room, I have to admit that there is some reason occasionally... However, the complaints level has stayed the same since I had only 2!

On the other hand, I have given in big way in terms of his model railway.

My hubby is fine with them. though they are outside in a shed, he even converted the shed floor into a huge run for them, he thinks they are funny creatures and look weird but luckily he is good and makes them things..:)):))

This thread has made me laugh so much. My boyfriend is exactly the same! He threw a fit when he saw the C&C cage and isn't happy at how much room it takes up. He has already started wheeking to try and get my attention and is most definitely feeling neglected. He doesn't like TGPF as he thinks i'm on it too much :)) He has even pretended to be a guinea pig :))

Awww, our poor OH's!

I'm single, been that way since I split up from my husband in 2008. And i'm going to stay single unless I can find a bloke who has a love of animals like me. I come as a package. Me, my daughter and my babies. And if he doesn't love us all, he can go run and jump :))

My hubby can not stand mine, and will not have anything to do with them. If he catches me spending any money on them he goes off on a rant:0:0:0. When I moved bought their run and moved it onto the grass he moaned like crazy about them killing the grass. Even though the grass is already ruined thanks to five chickens, and three kids mallethead

My boyfriend gets annoyed at how much I worry about the pigs, I always think they have to go to the vet. He also thinks I spend too much money on their food, but they deserve the best.

He is just as obsesesd with them though! He has a pig touching addiction. I've timed him some days, if he is in the same room as them he can't go five or ten minutes without touching one. First thing he does when he wakes up is get a pig. Last thing before he goes to bed at night, sometimes after all the lights are off I can hear him in the living room rattling around in the cage. Some days he doesn't even get out of bed and just starts calling that he wants a pig brought to him in bed. It is really very amusing. It can get annoying though when I'm talking and he turns around and gives me his back because he suddenly felt he couldn't go another moment without touching a pig. I think they get a bit annoyed with him.

lol my b/f doesn't even live with me but is exactly the same.
He says the 2 in the house make the house smell, but I'm quick off the mark to remind him that on many occassions I've had to use air freshner because of 'his' man smells.
He moaned because I used my credit card to buy the shed that the other 6 live in, he moaned cos I asked him to pick up a run from ebay, he moaned cos I asked him to carry a big sack of food.
But although he likes to moan I have caught him loads of times putting his fingers through the cage and making whistling sounds.

sometimes I'll go past the cage and find them eating veggies I know I haven't given them... and he did say yesterday we should get another run so both pairs can be on the grass at once

Tee hee! My boyfriend and I don't live together (he's Dutch, I'm still here up North!) but he gets warned pretty much daily that when we finally live together, I come as part of quite a big package. I imagine by the time we are in a position to live together, I'll have something like 10 guinea pigs, and some indoor pets like degus! Oh, and a Pug if I get my own way!

He does grumble that it's all I ever talk about, though... I've managed to tone that down now though, I can talk about guinea pigs all day on here and I'm not boring anyone around me! He says as long as I clean them out and pay for them it's fine. (I'm not kidding though, he's a big softy at heart and it wouldn't be long before I catch him holding or stroking them... He did have a thing for one of my old guinea pigs, Tufty (RIP) )

I'm single and since getting my piggies I'm really not interested in finding my dream man anymore.... who needs them when theres piggles to cuddle.... anyway theyd probably just moan rolleyes

xx

You're just right, I'm exactly the same, and any man who does get the pleasure of being my other half will have to accept the piggies and me come as a package! No moaning allowed!xox

I was finding my hub bit like that at first but i did decided i needed to time manage my piggies so we still have us time. He sees how happy it makes me though that over time he has taken more of an interest and in turn i make sure i give him attention. He is brill hubby x x

My hubby says there is nothing wrong in having a hobby I think he is pleased that having the piggies has stopped me nagging for another baby :) When someone had a baby we know and I said would in it be nice he said why dont we get you another gerbil thing! The only thing he moans about a little is the room they are in he is worried it will become a mess filled with poos lol. He out. gives them cuddles when I have to clean them O i do love my piggies.

Update on the husband front: Spoke about it he is fine now says has nothing against piggies just don't drop everything else. I explained just time needed to sort them out and get a routine as all new. He says fine and yesterday had a fine smiley day in the end. Piggies now out in the garden, Zapp loves his new friends in the run next door. Phew now how long till I introduce the next one or is that taking the mick? lololol

o i think he was also surprised i have been so stressed this week i sat down yesterday to have a piggie cuddle ans he could see how destressed i became. i swear they are magic i felt my sholders relax and i gave a deep sigh and i felt so chilled.

my OH loves our piggies!
When i clean them out he sits and cuddles them and always suggests getting 2 more knowing that i really WANT to but i dont think its fair as we both work long hours so having 4 to attend to would be a bit much as we give our current two sooo much attention, although, i could be persuaded!

My OH is as daft as me with them :(|) He built their pens (took time off work) shops for them, asks me daily if we need anything for them :x
He did comment once that he wants to come back as a piggy and live here being pampered mallethead Tsk !

My boyfriend and I live together, and although he takes the mickey out of me for being on a guinea big forum and alwayyyyyyys says I'm so sad for constantly being on here.... drool

He's actually not too bad. He did 'tsk' about the floor this morning for floor time, calling it a 'playground' making that the reason he wouldn't get out of bed? Rubbish lol :x

Also I lovingly suggested about a larger cage, he replied with a 'Whaaaaaaaaat?!?!?!' but I got him on side mwhaha!

Another thing that he takes the mickey about is, how I apparently talk to them in an Irish accent paha??! I didn't even realise this till today!

Oh god it never ends... and literally as I type this he walked in the room saying "typing on the forum are we?"

Some men just don't understand our passion...
