Hi,
we're planning on putting our house up for sale in the coming weeks, and have decided that having guinea pigs in a 2x5 c&c grid in a room isn't what most people want to see when buying a house.
So, we're looking at buying a hutch for a temporary set-up. They won't be outside all the time, we might even be able to fit it in our garage. What hutches are recommended, what size do we need for 2 boars and would we need a cover? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

For two boars you need a 6ft x 2ft hutch.
Yes you will need thermal and waterproof covers, snugglesafe heat pads and copious amounts of extra hay as bedding to keep them warm.

You say they won’t be outside all the time? its now too cold to put indoor piggies outside, so at the very least you are going to have to put them in your garage and take many extra precautions to keep them warm. But once you’ve put them out, you can’t bring them back in, and then put them out again. It has to be one of the other - there is now too much of a fluctuation between indoor and outdoor temperatures for piggies to be able to tolerate. .

Two boars will need a 6ft by 2ft hutch. Rydale and Chartwell do some lovely hutches. If the hutch is going in your garage, I suggest you buy a thermal cover for the hutch if you can and give them snugglesafes and lots of extra hay to keep them warm
