Hutch cleaning?

Hi there,
Do I need to use a petshop bought antibac spray to clean the hutch, or can I use something like Detol surface cleaner or Ecover?

Hiya,

Harsh antibac sprays can be harmful to little animals, irritate their skin and not good for them to breathe in. I just use a antibac especially for animals as it is mild, and I just get it from Wilkinson's or most petshops should have it too.

if your read the back of some disinfectant it usually says if you let it down to 1 to 40 parts its safe for use with pets, that one i use is..btw if you have pee stains vinegar is good spray/sprinkle it on rub in leave for 5 mins and wash thoroughly with warm water then clean with disinfectant

We just use a shop bought one often, other times dettol

I do the same as Spudnik, but didn't know about vinegar so thanks Spudnik - will try that tomorrow! O0

I use a mild disinfectant, however, I still water it down, I have had no problems. Shop brought ones are good but there are others you can use. And white vinegar or a cleaner with citrus in also work a treat.
