Hutch Mods!

Hi guys
wondering if you can help me I want to adjust my hutch to make a little second floor. I dont really want tio use nails etc
But can you reccomend somewhere I can get a fairly large wooden box where they cans still get to the bottom but I can mod it to make a nice second floor.
Here is a picture of my hutch. It is five feet in length iirc.

Unfortunately you probably will have to use nails. What I did was slide two pieces of wood through the side and put a big piece on top which my two boys jumped onto. But they were in a cage with gaps in it.
