Hi. My hutch is too hot today and it's worrying me a little.
Any tips how to cool it down?
I can't move it cos it's too heavy

I don't have ice packsdo you have any ice packs? wrap in fleece or towel and put it somewhere the piggies can "snuggle" it. Or spray water, gently, into the top of the hutch so it helps to cool the air - try no to do it where the piggies are so they don't get wet themselves.
Oh they are good suggestions. Thankyouwet towel over the run,and ice pods,or frozen peas wrapped in a towel and plenty of cool water in bottle that piggies can sip from.maybe read forum thread that health and illness team suggest.good luck .![]()
We put a thermometer on when we got them. That's how I know it's too hot. Although I can tell anyway.put a thermometer in the hutch if it is over 76 degrees it is getting too hot for pigs
I put many frozen bottles in the cage and it helps to cool it down.We put a thermometer on when we got them. That's how I know it's too hot. Although I can tell anyway.

Thankyou. I'm definitely doing that next time.I put many frozen bottles in the cage and it helps to cool it down.
They haven't had floor time yet as I've only had them a few days.
I've put the kids parachute over it, as that's all I had. Worried it's just going to make it hotter though as there's no breeze.
I know that's why I'm scared
Oh thankyou. Sorry I didn't see the link before. I'll have a good look.Have you read through the many tips in the link I have given you?
Like dampened, but not dripping towels (evaporating water cools the surrounding air), ice packs or frozen water bottles wrapped in a towel or fleece, melon and other juicy veg from the fridge etc.
