I saw the thread earlier, but I can't find it again.

I'm going to pose a question that has been asked about 400,000,000 times over. So I apologise in advance for sounding like a broken record.

William is now living by himself in a hutch which measures 4ft x 4ft. As I am looking to get him a new piggy friend, I am struggling to find boars which aren't in pairs and I can't find it in my heart to split them up. The hutch is split level and is actually meant for rabbits. It also has a big sleeping area and I am going to be making rennovations to it, to make it more exciting and snuggly.

I know William needs to go on some boardates and see if he's even remotely compatible with any of them, but if he is would the hutch be big enough for them all?

I've only ever kept 2 piggies at once so 3 would be new domain!

I also understand that trio's sometimes don't work etc. I just need to get all my facts right and organised in case having 2 more piggies comes around.

I don't want to rush everything and I just want to make this transition as smooth as possible, not just for me, but for William and the other pig(gies) which may be joining in on the fun.

Thanks guys and apologies again, because I know this gets asked frequently.

i dont think adding william to a bonded pair of boars is a good idea. finding a baby boar in need of a new home would be a far better idea IMO. or possibly have william neutered, and then find him a rescue lady friend or 2 :)

William would love to be neutured and have lady friends - I on the other hand am just SO worried about the op. There aren't really guinea pig friendly vets around here.

Infact when Keith was ill I rang the emergency vet line (I found him with a rattly cheat at about 7am and the vets opened at 8:30) and the conversation went like this:

Me: I've just found my guinea pig with really bad breathing problems and I'm not sure what to do.'
Vet: And? There's nothing I can do.
Me: Ok but is there anywhere I can take him? He's really not well.
Vet: No the vets opens at 8:30am. Take him then. mallethead mallethead

And she hung up. Needless to say I did NOT use that vets!

And the vets I did use weren't extremely guinea pig savvy but they did help as much as they could.

So I would be very worried about neuturing him.

Would love girly pigs again though - they are so sweet! x)

Well all guinea pigs are! :)):))
