Unfortunately, Hywel has developed complications from his neutering op and it has been a harrowing few days for all of us. He is currently back in more familiar surroundings at the rescue as we wanted to make him as comfy as possible to help his recovery.
Today, Hywel has finally started to improve a tiny bit after having been hit with a very strong antibiotic and is starting to be a little bit more interested in food again now that he is becoming a bit more comfy in himself, but it will probably take some time for him to recover fully, as he has lost an awful lot of weight in a very short time. We don't know for sure yet (and neither does the vet) what is exactly causing the blockade that has made his pooing increasingly painful; one possibility is an internal abscess. He's had an inconclusive x-ray on Friday, but no scan.
Please send him your vibes!
In addition, Telyn has been confirmed to have the beginnings of cataracts in both eyes. Congenital cataracts have a very strong genetic link, and there was always a good chance that she would develop them, too, after her mum Taffy had hers last autumn. It's not a surprise, but rather gutting nevertheless. Telyn (who is now one of the biggest girls) has always been my baby since she was only eight weeks old when she came here.
