i was watching a movie and looked over at my piggies cage porkchop was laying on his side not moving i picked him up and he was very limp my mom wasn't home so i ran out of the house with porkchop two diffrent shoes on and he passed away very slowly gasping for air once and a while i don't know what to do i don't want to let him go but i know i have too

What a horrible shock! So sorry to hear of your loss xx

my boyfriends going to come help me bury the little boy today i honestly just couldn't let him go i woke up in the middle of the night just to hold him and his brother started screaming when he saw his brother after he died i know that i should get another guinea pig to keep him company i was looking at an 8 year old in the humane society but i don't want to go through that heart breaking pain again so soon

Ah that's nice of him. I think you should forget about the 8yr old as he is likely to have a short life at that age and it sounds like you have had enough heartbreak already..perhaps try to find a younger companion. You can look on here or even Gumtree. I'm sure there is a nice piggy out there for him.

BIG HUGS

I am very sorry about your loss; it always whacks you when it happens so quickly and unexpectedly! it sounds like massive heart attack or stroke. At least, Porkchop didn't suffer for long even though it is scant consolation for you!

All the best for finding a new friend; I know that it is not that easy. Unfortunately, I don't know of any good rescues in your state. You may want to consider a quarantine depending onwhere you get a new companion from.

So Sorry to hear this it must have come as a terrible shock! Good luck in finding a new companion piggy x

so sorry.I know it is hard getting another piggy so soon after a death . I had to do it with my peruvian when i lost my texel. She soon found her way into my heart. Now have group of six and group of 4 so i dont have the single piggy problem. Realiseit isnt that easy with boys. Actually have two rats together and looking to find another female so i dont have this problem again. Sending you big hugs

I'm realy sorry for your loss, it must have been a terrible shock for you. R.I.P. Porkchop. xx

I'm so sorry you lost your beautiful Porkchop so suddenly. He was lucky to have been loved so much x

so i am still looking for a new piggy my mom thinks i am trying to fill this hole in my heart with a new piggy but nibbler needs someone to be with him right ? my mom thinks it will be fine if we just have him but i cant tell hes lonely any suggestions on how to get my mom to believe he needs a companion

Hey there, so sorry to hear what happened! My mom thinks I’m crazy for having so many guinea pigs but that is how it is here, which is why I’m so happy to be a part of this forum. Hopefully she comes around; and thanks for sharing because I haven’t experienced a loss of a guinea pig before and I dread it terribly! Hope everything works out for you and nibbler.

How far are you from this rescue here? This is a really good one - the closest to you.
