Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I started with 2 piggies and now have 5 from wrongly sexed 2 from a pets store... I am keeping the babies but i would like to have a big cage that is seperated for the boys and girls, i looked at c&c cages and i wish i could go with one of those but i dont have a lot of room in my home, and i havem4 kids under 10 and 2 big dogs. I need something that is tall rather than wide, but not sure if my piggies witll like that. I would like to build it myself so that if it needs to be replaced it can be done. I want the baby boy oreo to be able to see him mom and sisters but not be with them i am scared he wont get along with his dad since his dad piggie bit me for the first time recently after i was holding the babies he sniffed me and bit me hard! I think he wont like the babies if I'm wrong please let me know i feel horrible that the males have to be alone! Which is why i would like 1 big cage seperated in 3 sections,i think this will help with the lonliness, but i could be wrong. I boughtmy gps froma pet store for an easter present for my kids and I'm trying to learn as much as possible as fast as possible. Thanx in advance!

he might have bit you cos you smelt like girl piggies. i have a father son duo living together quite happily, if you do introduce them give them a bath/spray so they smell the same and the the baby wont smell like the girls.
also i wouldn't put the males and females where they can see each other as the males get frustrated trying to get them.

A pair of males need 8 sq. ft. on one level to be happy, but 10 sq. ft. is better. Males are best kept in pairs unless you want to consider neutering. A pair of females need 8 sq. ft. on one level to be happy, but more is better. www.guineapigcages.com You can stack different cages ontop of each other though. Rearrange your living room and you could probably find 2' by 5', 3 1/2' by 3', or something larger. You could put it in a responsible enough to handle guinea pig kid's bedroom. Or you could put a lock on the cage.
