I had no intentions of getting any pets when I went to stay with my sister at the beginning of the month but she had been to P@H for hamster supplies for her sons hamster and had seen the adoption centre and two guinea pigs called Rosie and Daisy. She was so taken with them and told me about them. I still had no intention of getting a pet or even two. Come the end of my week there we had to go back to P@H to get yet another new cage for the hamster but this time I went along. Big mistake, Rosie and Daisy had been taken about an hour earlier but it didn't matter Bodie and Doyle were there and looked just gorgeous. They stole my heart and before I could think straight I had adopted them. I renamed them Ben and Jerry and they have made my life so complete. They provide me with a reason to get up in a morning, they entertain me with their antics and they give me so much love as I give them. I can't imagine life without them now and its only been a few short weeks. They've cost me a small fortune changing cages, buying outdoor runs and toys, food, treats, bedding you name it. Do I regret any of it? NO I DO NOT. So, big mistake? Heck No. They are my babies now and are looked over by my previous two babies, Sam (underneath) and Milly (laid on top). I miss Sam and Milly so much still and Ben and Jerry haven't replaced them they are here in their own right. But they will be loved and looked after with just the same intensity.

Sam and Milly are doing a marvellous job of watching over Ben and Jerry. What a great C&C they have.

It's amazing how they change your life for the better :)
We have 20 piggies and each have their own little pigsonality and funny little habits...we love them to bits x)
I can be in another room and can tell you which one is wheeking or rumbling etc. rolleyes :))
You have done a fab job making their new home fit for Kings and welcome to the world of slavery...;) :x
Hope your leg is getting better x

I started back up with guinea pigs after a 4 year break and I now have 21 little or not so little in some cases boys and love them all to bits, each one has his own personality. Wouldn't be without them :)

That was a really really sweet post, thank you. Lovely photo of Sam and Milly on your wall.

Absolutely amazing cage setup, what tables are you using to put it on? Looks like a great storage solution.

Thanks for all the compliment and my leg is feeling much better. I can now go part of the day without crutches but standing is still painful. I'm getting there though.

This morning it was on two Ikea Lack coffee tables. This afternoon it's on a custom built table made of 2 x 2 and 9mm MDF cut to shape and size. I also lowered it by 2" so I can see them better. BTW the "photo'' isn't a photo its a cross stitch. It was my first 'big project' when I started stitching and whilst I'm proud of it I now do much more detailed pictures with more definition usually with 625 individual crosses per square inch! Very fine work and something that size would take me around 2 years on and off. My last one was an eagle and had 270,000 stitches!
